A Best Kept Secret: How to Get In Home Free Therapy If Your child or Toddler Has Developmental Delay or Disabilities.

Is your infant or toddler is showing delay in development with crawling, sitting, walking, or talking? Or does your child have a physical disability?  You may be surprised to know that you are probably eligible for professional therapists to come to your home and perform a detailed assessment of your child's abilities at no cost to you through an excellent program through the California Department of Social Services. Afterwards, if need for therapy is established, they will provide these as well. 

 This thorough and well run program through the State of California offers some excellent resources for families. For example, you may be eligible for services if your child has speech or motor delay

and is less than 36 months old or if your child has a developmental disability and is less than 18 years of age. For full details, contact

The state of California Department of Developmental Services has created and funded regional centers to assist families with children that require services.

Regional centers are nonprofit private corporations that contract with the Department of Developmental Services to provide or coordinate services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities. They have offices throughout California to provide a local resource to help find and access the many services available to individuals and their families.

 

What is Early Start?

The Early Start Program is California's response to federal legislation ensuring that early intervention services to infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families are provided in a coordinated, family-centered network.
