2009 Scholarship Winners

Sarah Calara of Daly City will be attending U.C. San Diego
Britney Kitamata-Wong of South San Francisco will be attending U.C. Berkeley
Alexander Manessis of Pacifica will be attending the University of San Diego
Nicholas Mazza of Brisbane will be attending Brown University
Andrew Mendoza of Burlingame will be attending the University of the Pacific
Fiona Murray of San Mateo will be attending Lewis and Clark College
Anthony Vassalo of San Carlos will be attending the University of Southern California
Each of these students will receive $2,000 scholarship to help cover this year’s tuition and fees.
Over the past five years BAPMG has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to 27 deserving young men and women who have been patients at BAPMG for at least two years.
This year we had over 175 applicants and increased the number of awards from five to seven scholarships.
FDA warns against using OTC cold medicines

The FDA has completed its review of information about the safety of over-the-counter (OTC) cough and cold medicines in infants and children under 2 years of age. FDA is recommending that these drugs not be used to treat infants and children under 2 years of age because serious and potentially life-threatening side effects can occur.
HiB Vaccine Shortage Ended

The shortage of Haemophilus influenza type B (HiB) conjugate vaccines over the past two years is over and we, once again, have full supplies of this vaccine. If your child has had less than four doses, ask the doctor if more doses are needed. Depending on your child's age, not everyone needs all four doses.
